Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Semiconductor Equipment Technician to provide on-site support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role offers hands-on training and growth within a high-tech environment.

Ideal candidates have backgrounds in Mechatronics, Semiconductor Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related fields and possess strong problem-solving and customer-service skills for field service

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Install, upgrade, modify, and replace components on equipment.
  • Respond to service calls to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain service records and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to improve reliability.
  • Train customer personnel on operation and preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with new tech.
  • Ensure proper care of tools, vehicles, and PPE.

Our client is seeking a motivated Field Service Engineer / Semiconductor Equipment Technician to provide on-site support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in Mechatronics, Semiconductor Technology, Aviation Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or Electromechanical Systems who are looking to build a long-term career in the semiconductor industry.

In this role, you will work directly with cutting-edge technology, partner with customers to maximize equipment performance, and receive ongoing technical training to expand your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and part replacements.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency support requests to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, maintenance records, and technical reports.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Train customer personnel on equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and best practices.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current on new technologies and equipment.
  • Ensure proper care, maintenance, and security of company-issued tools, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Follow all safety, security, cleanroom, and professional conduct requirements while working on customer sites.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Semiconductor Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, procedures, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Aviation Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or similar technical disciplines.
  • Experience working with semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Previous field service, maintenance, industrial equipment, or manufacturing support experience.
  • Active passport or ability to obtain one for required equipment training and travel opportunities.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed primarily in semiconductor cleanroom environments.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working around electrical systems, moving mechanical components, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleanroom garments for extended periods.
  • Ability to walk 10,000+ steps and climb multiple flights of stairs during a 12-hour shift.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training and support at other locations.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of

employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in

the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this

role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the

applicable law of the worksite location.
