Job summary

Applied Materials in Gloucester, MA is seeking a Semiconductor Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician for an 18‑month contract to build mechanical, electrical and electro‑mechanical subassemblies.

You will follow schematics and wiring diagrams, use hand and power tools, and participate in basic troubleshooting with guidance while documenting work and maintaining safety. This role offers a collaborative, production‑floor environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of manufacturing experience.
• Comfort with computers and ability to enter time/expense data.
• Hands-on skill with tools, jigs, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Stamina for standing/walking ~85% of the day.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical/electronic, and electro‑mechanical subassemblies and complete units.
• Follow schematics, wiring diagrams, work orders, and parts lists for assembly, test, and repair.
• Assist with troubleshooting, error correction, and repair activities.
• Use test fixtures, measurement equipment, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps under supervision.
• Enter progress, time, and expense data; document finished work and inspections.
• Receive and audit parts; inspect components for defects; recommend process improvements.
