Job summary

Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to support its Hillsboro, Oregon facility. The role involves PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, instrumentation, check-out, and startup support for semiconductor manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has a BSEE/BS in Electrical or Controls Engineering (or Perry Tech Institute equivalent) and hands-on experience with GE Fanuc and Allen-Bradley PLCs, DeviceNet, and VFDs.

Qualifications

• BSEE or BS in Electrical/Controls Engineering, or Perry Technical Institute graduate with equivalent experience.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls design as well as PLCs (GE Fanuc PLCs Proficy Machine Edition, Rockwell/AB PLCs, DeviceNet, Point IO, ABB VFDs, AB VFDs).

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements control systems (logic, hardware) to meet machine and system requirements.
• Develops control logic software and user interfaces.
• Assists with start-up and debugging of integrated systems; develops system documentation.
• Works on automation and control system integration for facility systems and life safety.
• May lead projects and guide junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborates with team in a cleanroom environment following semiconductor protocols.
