Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a PrC CSC Semiconductor Manager for its Amherst, NY facility. You will focus on new coating applications, process development, customer project management and advanced analysis, guiding R&D projects and transferring new coatings to production.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience in PVD/PACVD or surface treatment technologies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline (graduate degree may substitute experience).
Ability and experience in project planning to support products and customers’ needs.
Broad R&D and commercialization experience from concept to product launch.
Strong PVD and PACVD process knowledge.
Proficient in Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Create and execute plans with Sales/Operations to introduce new coating technologies and processes.
Interact with Product Managers to ensure customer requirements are understood.
Develop and foster customer relationships to understand objectives.
Serve as primary technical contact for key semiconductor customers.
Lead sampling and prototype projects from inception to production.
Oversee technical realization of coating processes including testing and fixturing.
Perform R&D to develop new coatings and transfer to production.
Move R&D-developed technologies to production level.
Manage process qualification and acceptance testing of new equipment locally.
Provide training to newly hired engineers at semiconductor sites.
Assist service technicians with equipment troubleshooting.
Work with vendors to establish specs for new/upgraded equipment.
Offer input to improve existing production processes.
