Job summary

CHS Inc. in Minot, ND is seeking a Truck and Trailer Maintenance Technician to perform preventative and light maintenance on semis and trailers. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4pm, with potential Saturday work if needed.

A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered, with $1,500 paid after 30 days and $1,500 after one year in the role. The role requires troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, with opportunities to mentor junior technicians and contribute to a safe, compliant workplace.

Qualifications

2+ years of semi truck and trailer maintenance experience.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Vocational/technical training in production maintenance/mechanics preferred.
Significant experience in industrial maintenance.
Broad knowledge of equipment and machinery operations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work additional hours as needed.
Pre-employment screenings may be required (drug, criminal, motor vehicle check, FMSCA Clearinghouse).

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair and maintain vehicles, machinery and equipment in the assigned area of responsibility to minimize downtime and improve availability.
Schedule and perform preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable vehicles within industry standards.
Provide assistance to more junior team members.
Perform record keeping and documentation as required.
Maintain spare parts/equipment inventory and keep tools and work areas organized.
Follow CHS policies and participate in training for service and repair of equipment and facilities.
Maintain a strong safety culture and report hazards.
Perform other responsibilities as needed.
