Job summary

AMBSIMS & Associates Corp is seeking a Semi-Local Truck Driver to service grocery deliveries from Stockton/Tracy, CA to Costco stores across California and Nevada. The driver will start in Stockton each day and complete routes with mostly no-touch freight and a mix of drop-and-hook and live-unload tasks.

The role involves extensive Nevada travel (Sparks, Reno, Carson City) via Donner Pass, with overnight layovers paid for and motel/hotel provided.

Responsibilities

• Make grocery deliveries in dry van trailers to Costco stores in CA and NV.
• Start each workday in Stockton, CA.
• Layovers with motel/hotel provided and layover pay.
• Handle mostly drop-and-hook with some live-unload freight.
• Travel through Donner Pass for Nevada routes; 98% deliveries in NV.

Job description

Semi-Local Truck Driver

Location: Stockton, CA
Average Yearly Gross: $85,440
Bonus: $5,000

The Semi-Local Truck Driver will make deliveries of grocery items in dry van trailers from distribution centers in Stockton and Tracy, California, to Costco stores throughout California and Nevada.

• The driver will start each workday in Stockton, CA.
• Approximately 98% of deliveries will be in Nevada, primarily in:
  • Sparks
  • Reno
  • Carson City
• Driver is required to travel through Donner Pass for Nevada deliveries.
• Freight consists of a combination of drop-and-hook and live-unload deliveries.
• The majority of stops will be drop-and-hook.
• All freight is no-touch.

Special Requirements

• Driver will be required to work at other DCS/JBI accounts when necessary.
• Driver must be willing and able to chain as weather conditions dictate.
• If Donner Pass is closed or deemed impassable due to weather conditions, the driver is required to take an alternate route that may require an overnight layover.
• Drivers will be provided a motel/hotel for required layovers and will receive layover pay.
• Weather-related layovers typically occur during the winter months from November through February.
• During the winter months, drivers will lay over an average of 3 nights per week.
