Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Class A Semi Driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle across our route network, with focus on prompt and courteous service. You will pick up raw materials, weigh in/out, tarp loads, and maintain safety and compliance on the job.

The role requires a current CDL Class A with a clean MVR, the ability to work as part of a team, and a commitment to equipment safety and accurate paperwork, including DVIRs and mileage forms. Evening shift, 50 hours/week.

Responsibilities

• Run established route; pick up raw materials; weigh in raw material when returning to plant and weigh in and out of customer location as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring loads are tarped before leaving plant or customer location; maintain cleanliness at customer locations.
• Responsible for company vehicle; keeps vehicle in clean condition.
• Conducts all safety checks and inspections of vehicle; operates vehicle under state, federal, local regulations and in accordance with company policy and procedures; observes all company safety rules.
• Maintain DOT hours of service with onboard computer in accordance with company policy.
• Other duties as assigned

This position is responsible for The Class A Semi Driver is responsible for operation of commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw material with attention to prompt and efficient customer service, then return to our facility.

Maintain excellent customer relations by presenting professional appearance and attitude.

Responsible for completing all company required paperwork in accordance with company policies (route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, service forms, etc).

Maintain and update vehicle condition report daily.

Maintain DOT hours of service with onboard computer in accordance with company policy.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Frequently exposed to high noise levels, strong odors, varying temperatures, and biohazardous conditions.
• Requires prolonged sitting and movement throughout office/work locations, as well as occasional use of computers and office equipment.
• Must occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb or balance.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and identify potential workplace hazards.
