Haselden Construction is hiring a Project Estimator for our Centennial office to support Self Perform Wood Framing. You will develop detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and logistics, collaborate with Preconstruction and subcontractors, and help drive competitive bids across multiple ongoing projects.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil/Architectural Engineering or Construction Management, strong data interpretation, and proficient use of estimating tools like PlanSwift,

Responsibilities

• Supports Preconstruction in project acquisition, including pre-planning and budgeting for RFPs.
• Builds detailed estimates covering labor, material, equipment, logistics, and fees.
• Consults with Preconstruction, subcontractors, and suppliers to discuss estimates and cost reductions.
• Reviews takeoffs with Self Perform and Preconstruction teams; can handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prepares estimates for all design stages: Conceptual to Construction Documents.

We are currently seeking aProject Estimator to join our Self Perform Wood Framing team in our Centennial office!

Job Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

Project Acquisition:

• Supports Preconstruction in project acquisition including pre-planning and budgeting during requests for proposals (RFP's).
• Performs site visits as required to assist in the preparation of RFP's.

Preconstruction Development:

• Review project documentation.
• Build detailed estimates that account for labor, material, equipment, logistics, general conditions, and fee required to complete a scope of work.
• Consults with Preconstruction, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues.
• Review takeoffs and estimates with Self Perform and Preconstruction teams.
• Has the ability to work on multiple projects at once.

Preconstruction Coordination:

• Assists in preparation of estimates with the proper level of detail for all design stages: Conceptual, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents.
• Reviews design documents for proper information to receive accurate pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Works with the Preconstruction Manager and Senior Estimators in the creation of all final estimates to be given to the operations and accounting team for creation of the project budgets.

Subcontracting and Buy-Out:

• Updates subcontractor/supplier database, as necessary.
• Prepares all bid packages, instructions to bidders, and bid forms in coordination with the Preconstruction team to assure complete bids and giving the field team the right information needed to start construction or maintain the project schedule.
• Reviews subcontractor and supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
• Works with Self-Perform Preconstruction Manager and Senior Estimators during buy-out process and hand off to the Operations Team.
• Communicates feedback to subcontractors on bid efforts.

Department Advancement:

• Assists with maintaining the estimating cost database to ensure costs are up to date.

Industry Relationships:

• Helps maintain relationships with existing subcontractors and create new relationships for mutual benefit.
• Works with preconstruction teams, architects/engineers, subcontractors/suppliers under the direction of the Self Perform Preconstruction Manager

Technology:

• Familiarity / Proficiency with the following software or internet-based programs:
• On-Screen Takeoff
• Planswift
• MS Excel
• MS Word
• MS Teams
• Pantera or other bid solicitation software

Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience; or two (2) or more years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present technical information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and vendors.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to read and analyze construction documents for wood framed construction projects.
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of spreadsheet programs and package estimating systems.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 annual. This would be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location where the job is performed.
