Job summary

Higley Construction in Akron, OH, invites applications for an entry‑level Project Engineer. The role rotates through operations, safety, project controls, estimating, and business development over 3–5 years to help you discover your best career path within the firm.

You will support RFIs, submittals, drawings coordination, meeting minutes, and project correspondence while maintaining a safe job site and building strong relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field (or relevant experience).
• 1–2 years in engineering, construction management, or related field is a benefit.
• Engineering certifications such as an EIT are a plus.
• Co-op rotations or similar experience completed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates an understanding of Higley Construction's values and ethics.
• Reads construction drawings and documents; understands industry terminology.
• Contributes to problem solving, process improvement, and initiatives beyond scope.
• Builds a professional network of industry and community relationships.
• Manages project engineering duties including RFIs, Submittals, drawing coordination, meeting minutes, and project correspondence.
• Maintains a safe and secure job site.
• Assists the PM with change management.
• Assists the superintendent with field coordination and subcontractor management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
