Job summary

Empowering People's Independence in Henrietta, NY is seeking a compassionate caregiver to assist a 40-year-old female with brain injury and other neurological disabilities. In this per diem role, you will supervise and train daily living activities, support communication, and help her participate in crafts, library visits, and social activities.

The position requires a NY driver’s license, ability to lift 50 pounds, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; one-year experience in the human service field preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Maintain a valid New York State driver’s license; a vehicle is required to perform the job.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision, training, and assistance with activities of daily living for a 40-year-old female, including self-care, social, recreation, community, and domestic skills.
• Assist with email review and articulation; provide transportation to classes as needed.
• Support client in crafts, library visits, and socialization.

Job Purpose:

Assist individuals with brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other neurological disabilities in achieving a challenging, stimulating, dignified life by serving as an advocate and liaison for and on behalf of individuals’ rights and benefits.

Essential Functions:

• Provide supervision, training, and assistance in accomplishing activities of daily living, which includes, but is not limited to, self-care skills, social skills, recreation skills, community skills, and domestic skills for a 40 year old female. She enjoys crafts, going to the library, and socializing. She would like assistance with email review, articulating, and assistance with getting to and from classes. Seeking someone to provide supervision, training, and assistance in accomplishing activities of daily living, which includes but not limited to self care skills, social skills, recreation skills, community skills and domestic skills.

Location:

Location: Henrietta, NY

Schedule:

• Per Diem (0-19.9)
• Monday-Friday (1pm-5pm, occasional weekends)

Pay Rate:

$25/hr-$30/hr

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent; one-year experience in the human service field preferred.

Qualifications:

• Maintain a valid New York State driver’s license; a vehicle is required to perform the job

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

• Must be trained in all required trainings within 90 days of being hired and maintain current certifications with all required trainings

• Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills

• Must be 18 years or older
