Job summary

Empowering People’s Independence (EPI) is seeking a Self-Direction Specialist to assist individuals and families with implementing self-direction budgets and attending meetings. As employer of record, you will ensure payments align with budgets and maintain Medicaid compliance standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with COS, strong documentation, and adherence to OPWDD regulations to support individuals’ goals and maintain safe, compliant services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 1 year paid or unpaid experience in the human service field and/or OPWDD.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License required; vehicle for business travel.

Responsibilities

• Direct contact for person supported and COS member per caseload.
• Provide ongoing training and support to persons supported and COS.
• Attend Life Plan meetings in person or virtually.
• Maintain compliance documents per OPWDD and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation standards in electronic health records.
• Perform employer of record duties including staff management and onboarding.
