Job summary

Cheney Public School District is seeking Self-Contained Instructional Paraeducators for Salnave Elementary in Cheney, WA. Multiple positions available with a 7-hour day schedule (7:20 a.m. – 2:50 p.m.).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Passing score (455) on state-approved Paraeducator Assessment or higher education credits.
• AA degree or higher OR 72 quarter/48 semester credits with college-level courses.
• Current first aid/CPR card, district may provide training.
• WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation of teacher designed instructional activities and classroom routines.
• Conduct teacher/therapist-designed instructional experiences.
• Work with individual and small groups of students.
• Supervise, model, and teach expected behaviors across settings.
• Implement behavior support plans and positive interventions.
• Assist with de-escalation/restraint procedures as directed.

Education
