Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company supports a customer-first approach in its stores. As a cashier, you will engage customers, operate the checkout and self-checkout lanes, and ensure accurate transactions with efficient service.

We seek reliable individuals 18+ with strong math and communication skills, capable of working flexible shifts including nights and weekends. Training on POS systems is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash register transactions.
• Knowledge of tender policies and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic math and counting tasks.
• Ability to learn new point-of-sale technologies.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in transactions.
• Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must follow safety procedures and report hazards.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide efficient checkout services.
• Direct customers to use self-checkout lanes when appropriate.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of all transactions and tendering.
• Monitor self-checkout lanes and assist customers as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary store environment.
• Comply with company policies and local laws on restricted items.
