Food Lion seeks a Front End team member to provide fast, friendly service at the self-checkout area in Jacksonville, NC. You will greet customers, assist with SCO usage, and ensure smooth transactions while maintaining store standards.

The role requires good communication, the ability to multitask, and adherence to safety and training requirements. Part-time, on-site position with a neat appearance and team orientation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Assist customers on how to use Self-checkouts properly including the hand scanner for a Fast and Easy checkout experience.
• Respond timely to customer inquiries and self-checkout system notifications.
• Monitor multiple self-checkouts for proper customer usage including scanning of all items and accurate scanning of each item.
• Remind customers of items located on the bottom of the cart or items under baby seats prior to completion of transaction.
• When needed, assist in scanning the customer's order and provide instructions on payment.
• Complete self-checkout voids and age-restricted verifications per Front End standards.
• Wear the Food Lion uniform with name badge on duty and maintain neat appearance.
• Collect and return shopping carts from the self-checkout area and ensure area is neat and clean.
• Report self-checkout issues to the Customer Service Manager or MOD and follow company guidelines.
• Ability to perform troubleshooting on self-checkout as needed.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and notify QA of cleaning or maintenance needs.
• Complete CBT and training aid courses as required.
