Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company in Tyler, TX is seeking a Self-Checkout Attendant for a part-time role. You will engage with customers, operate the self-checkout lanes, and assist with carry-out services while ensuring accuracy of transactions.

The position requires basic cash handling, strong communication, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Training is provided in a friendly, safety-focused store environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum three months of service as a cashier, office, or management experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old; 21+ to drive for company business where applicable.
• Certifications may be required (TABC/LACT/AATC) where applicable.
• Ability to learn new technology systems and tender policies.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Maintains proficiency regarding transactions and accuracy of tender. Performs various customer service duties while maintaining a safe and sanitary shopping environment.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*** Maintains a consistent position at the entrance of the self-checkout lane when not assisting customers.* Directs and invites customers to use self-checkout lanes based on availability and payment method options.* Resolves varying customer interventions accurately and with a sense of urgency.* Closely monitors all transactions for accuracy.* Role model for “Jump-Over-the-Counter Service Excellence”* Monitors, scans, and labels items on the bottom of the shopping cart.* Communicates customers needing carry out assistance to courtesy clerks.* Maintains clean, safe and sanitary working and shopping environment by adhering to Company safety procedures.
