Job summary

Landmark Software & Services, a Halliburton business line, seeks an R&D geophysicist to develop advanced seismic imaging, inversion, and quantitative-interpretation technologies for reservoir characterization. You will apply Python, machine learning, deep learning, and inversion methods to integrate seismic data with well logs, rock physics, and other information.

You will develop and validate workflows to transform seismic observations into high-resolution 3D estimates of reservoir properties,

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Science, Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
• Minimum of four years of related experience in applied research or a comparable technical field.
• Demonstrated experience applying scientific or engineering principles to seismic imaging, seismic inversion, reservoir characterization, or related problems.
• Proficiency in Python and experience developing scientific-computing, data-analysis, ML, or DL workflows.
• Experience designing investigations, experiments, and validation studies and interpreting results.
• Ability to document technical work and communicate concepts to multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop elastic full-waveform inversion and seismic-inversion methods for various seismic applications.
• Design AI and deep-learning approaches to improve seismic imaging and facies classification.
• Integrate seismic data with logs, rock physics, and geologic interpretations to build high-resolution models.
• Develop Python-based research prototypes and reproducible workflows.
• Quantify uncertainty using statistical, probabilistic, or AI-enabled methods.
• Document methods and communicate findings to technical and product stakeholders.
