Job summary

VERSANT Media's CNBC segment producer role in Englewood Cliffs, NJ seeks a seasoned professional to cover major financial, corporate, and political news. You will develop and produce live and taped guest segments, write teases, and secure compelling guests and sound bites for Power Lunch.

With at least 5 years in live TV production, you will manage hits under tight deadlines, maintain strong industry sources, and collaborate with line producers to elevate the show with fresh ideas and visual

Job Description

CNBC is looking for a Segment Producer for Power Lunch. In this role, you will be an integral part of covering the most significant financial, corporate & political news stories of the day.

What you'll do:

• Developing and producing live and taped guest segments
• Generating original content ideas daily, tapping into a broad array of sources
• Identifying and booking compelling guests
• Conducting pre-interviews of guests and arranging hits
• Writing compelling copy and teases
• Securing elements such as sound bites and video to support segments
• Help create, visualize and produce segments for the show
• Bring newand creative ideas to the show for segments and franchises
• Developing and maintaining good relationships with news sources
• Assisting Line Producers in the production of the show

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

• At least 5 years of experience booking and segment producing in a live television environment, with demonstrated writing, research and communication skills
• Exemplary editorial judgment
• Successful candidates will be self-starters with superior contacts who can work effectively and creatively under daily deadline pressure
• Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story
• Willingness to accommodate a demanding production schedule and flexibility to work weekends and some holidays when and as required

Desired Characteristics:

• Some experience as a Line Producer -- this individual will ideally serve as back-up LP
• Strong understanding of the markets and prior experience at a financial news network
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
