Mercy Health Springfield Regional Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio, seeks a fellowship-trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a highly skilled multispecialty group. The role focuses on comprehensive cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery, including robotic and minimally invasive approaches.

You will lead open-heart, lung and vascular procedures, with involvement in pre/postoperative care, clinics, and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon with BC/BE status.
• Experience in open-heart, thoracic and vascular procedures.
• Proficient in robotic and minimally invasive approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive surgical care for cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions.
• Perform CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aneurysm repair.
• Conduct open-heart, lung, and vascular surgeries.
• Utilize robotic and minimally invasive techniques to improve outcomes.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care including ICU rounds.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists and surgeons on treatment plans.
• Participate in ambulatory clinics and candidate evaluations.
• Engage in multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives.

Mercy Health Physicians in beautiful Springfield, Ohio (between Columbus & Dayton) has an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, fellowship trained BC/BE Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Join an excellent, collegial multispecialty group offering a fulfilling professional life in a great setting!

• Provide comprehensive surgical care for patients with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions in both hospital and ambulatory settings.
• Perform open-heart, lung and vascular surgeries including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm repair and lung resections.
• Utilize robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques to enhance patient outcomes.
• Manage preoperative & postoperative care including ICU rounds and outpatient follow-ups.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, pulmonologists and vascular surgeons and advanced practice clinicians to develop treatment plans.
• Participate in ambulatory clinics evaluating new consultations, follow-up patients, and surgical candidates.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• EPIC system-wide
• Call 1:2 APC support provided in OR & ICU settings to improve workflow efficiency and patient care.
• Two Da Vinci XI Robots available
