Job summary

Vylor invites Production Agronomy Interns for summer 2027 to gain hands-on experience in seed production, field management, and agronomic decision-making. You will work with an Agronomist and production teams to support safe, efficient seed production and participate in capstone projects.

You will gain exposure to data collection, field trials, and cross-functional collaboration, while developing technical, analytical, and leadership skills for a potential career in the seed industry.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in agronomy, agricultural business, agricultural studies, agricultural systems technology, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate across functions
• Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
• Basic proficiency with computer applications and the ability to work with data
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced agricultural environment
• Sophomore or junior standing at the time of the internship
• Demonstrated interest in agriculture, agronomy, seed production, or a related industry
• Previous internship, field, farm, research, or other hands-on agricultural experience

Responsibilities

• Supporting seed production operations and field management activities
• Assisting with crop scouting and integrated pest management (IPM) activities
• Conducting field trials, research studies, and data collection
• Evaluating economic injury thresholds and supporting agronomic recommendations
• Identifying weeds, insects, pests, and crop diseases
• Monitoring crop development and communicating field observations and progress
• Collaborating with agronomy, production, and other cross-functional teams
• You will also complete a capstone project assigned by your Field Operations Manager. The project will allow you to apply what you learn, strengthen your technical and problem-solving skills, and make a meaningful contribution to Vylor's seed production operations.
