Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a Mill Associate to oversee seed cleaning operations. This role supports the Mill Manager and Farm Manager to plan production workflow and packaging of seed.

The position requires attention to detail, ability to lift 50 lb, operate basic equipment, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while ensuring accurate records and teamwork throughout the seed cleaning process.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure seed samples are properly pulled for lab tests and labelled.
• Coordinate the re-cleaning of seed as required.
• Set up new equipment and adapt to seed cleaning needs.
• Implement and maintain procedures for a safe work environment.
• Ensure clean, safe, and efficient seed storage.
• Perform other farm and warehouse duties as required through the season.

Mill Associate

The Seed Mill Associate is responsible for all activities involved in the Seed Cleaning process. This person works closely with both the Mill Manager and the Farm Manager to plan and organize the production workflow of seed cleaning and packaging of seed.

Responsibilities

• Help receive and document un-cleaned seed inventory
• Maintain records of each seed lot
• Help set-up of machines for cleaning each crop & monitor quality of cleaned seed
• Help maintain records of machinery setups for each species of seed
• Monitor to assure seed samples are properly pulled for laboratory tests, and properly labelled and stored
• Coordinate the re-clean seed as required
• Help set up new equipment & modify and/or adapt to meet seed cleaning needs
• Implement and maintain procedures to ensure a safe work environment
• Implement and maintain procedures to ensure clean, safe, and efficient seed storage
• Other farm and warehouse duties as required through the season.

Experience / Education and Skills Required

• Communication and attention to detail: relate clearly and well with office and other workers.
• Able to operate a forklift and skidsteer, or demonstrate an ability to learn.
• Able to lift 50 lb to head height, and in good physical condition.
• Organization and safety consciousness, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Legible writing.
• Basic math: to check orders, calculate loads, calculate weights, etc.
