Job summary

Harba is seeking a Seed Lab Technician to support seed processing and data management in our Indiana facility. You will prepare, sort, and label seed samples, assist with viability testing and germination studies, and help interpret lab results.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean lab space, following SOPs, and assisting with greenhouse operations during peak cycles. Familiarity with Excel and attention to detail are important for success in this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s in agriculture, biology, or related field preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience in a lab, seed testing, or greenhouse role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Comfort working in a repetitive, hands-on lab setting.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and general lab data entry.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sort, and label seed samples according to research protocols.
• Assist with seed counting, weighing, viability testing, and germination studies.
• Maintain clean and organized lab space and ensure compliance with lab safety procedures.
• Enter data accurately into digital records or spreadsheets and help interpret lab results.
• Follow SOPs for all lab activities and work with scientists to support plant breeding or trait development projects.
• Support greenhouse or controlled-environment operations as needed during peak cycles.
• Conduct equipment calibration and maintenance on lab tools like balances and seed counters.
