Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. seeks a System Administrator for an on-site role at the NAVAIR base in Patuxent River, MD. The candidate will develop Windows- and Linux-based solutions within a government hosting facility and must maintain security posture per DoD guidance.

Active Secret clearance is required with potential to obtain Top Secret after starting. US citizenship is required. A BS in a technical discipline is preferred and compensation ranges from $75,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on

Qualifications

  • Experience evaluating RMF compliance including STIG and ACAS scanning.
  • Certification in a Windows or Linux operating environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facilities.
  • Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware, including VMs and containers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes on servers and IT equipment.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on servers and workstations.
  • Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions.
  • Deploy and maintain software applications.
  • Provide technical support to customers and guidance on best practices.

Overview:

We are looking for an enterprising System Administrator to develop and implement Windows- and Linux-based engineering solutions within a government software hosting facility. This position requires full-time on-site presence at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD.


** This position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026


Clearance:

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Candidates must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after beginning this work. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.


Requirements:


  • At least three years experience performing many of the responsibilities listed in this job requisition.

  • Experience with evaluating Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance including performing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning.

  • A certification in a Windows or Linux operating environment.


Responsibilities:

Candidates for this position will:



  • Provide engineering solutions for various and unique problem sets and customers in a government software hosting facility.

  • Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, to include virtual machines and containers.

  • Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to various physical and virtual hosts.

  • Perform installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment.

  • Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.

  • Manage user accounts and permissions.

  • Deploy and maintain software applications.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Maintain documentation to include knowledge base, incident response actions, system configurations, and other information related to system administration.

  • Provide technical support to customers, ranging from resolving technical issues to providing guidance and best-practices.

  • Secure information systems and applications to current DoD guidance

  • Maintain configuration and security posture of information systems through continuous monitoring and routine security events/reporting.

  • Participate in project planning using Agile methodology.

  • Provide networking support to on-premises infrastructure.

    Compensation:

    Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements.


    The projected annual compensation range for this position is $75,000 -$150,000 (USD). This estimate reflects the standard salary range for this position and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
