Requisition ID: 40572BR

Business Unit: TSU

Job Description:

CDM Smith's Environmental Services Group is seeking an Engineer, Scientist or Geologist with modeling experience related to Sediment Remediation projects located anywhere within the United States.

The candidate must have demonstrated expertise working independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team on sediment remediation projects for a variety of clients including those in the Federal and Public sector.

Roles and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Understanding the scientific and engineering principles of modeling surface water hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and contaminant fate and transport in coastal, estuarine, riverine, and/or lacustrine settings.
  2. Experience with the development of field sampling programs and subsequent data analyses to support the development of conceptual site models, mass balances, and data-based understanding of fate and transport processes. This would include experience with interpreting results from acoustic doppler current profilers, bathymetric surveys, geochronology cores, etc.
  3. Experience with numerical and desktop model development, calibration, application, and peer review.
  4. Experience evaluating the feasibility of sediment remediation technologies and assisting in the development of sediment remediation designs for large contaminated sediment sites involving multiple stakeholders.
  5. Serve as CDM Smith’s primary modeling interface with clients on complicated sediments sites; this includes having the ability to assess and understand a problem and develop and communicate a technical strategy to the client.
