Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide technical support for our water resources projects. The role involves working primarily with public sector clients, emphasizing high-quality service. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the Virginia Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) stormwater program, including MS4 and TMDL compliance. We value self-motivated professionals eager to contribute expertise to our water resources engineering and planning initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead water resources and regulatory compliance consulting, including MS4 and TMDL program planning and implementation.
  • Conduct stormwater infrastructure inspections and investigations, such as:
    • Stormwater management facility inspections
    • Pollution prevention and SWPPP site visits
    • Construction site erosion and sediment control inspections
    • Environmental field activities
    • Inspection report and document preparation
    • Develop and deliver stormwater training
    • Coordinate with clients and project staff
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience with Clean Water Act compliance, specifically MS4 and TMDL planning
  • Experience developing stormwater program documents such as MS4 Program Plans, TMDL Action Plans, SWPPPs, and Pollution Prevention Procedures
  • Knowledge of stormwater infrastructure and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform fieldwork in challenging conditions
  • Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, site plan reading, nutrient management, and data collection using Esri tools
  • Working knowledge of stormwater sampling protocols
  • Experience collaborating with government agencies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Certifications such as Virginia DEQ SWM & ESC Inspector and Virginia DCR NMP are preferred.
