Job summary

Primary Vascular Care seeks an experienced Sedation Nurse (RN) to join our operating room team on a full-time basis, supporting vascular procedures with moderate sedation. Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years in procedural, interventional, or critical care settings.
• Experience administering or monitoring moderate sedation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor moderate sedation for vascular procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, airway status, and consciousness during procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures (IV access, medications, pre-procedural assessment).
• Maintain patient safety and comfort before, during, and after sedation.
• Document medications, monitoring data, and responses per guidelines.
• Ensure emergency equipment and meds are ready and functioning.
• Assist procedural team while maintaining sterile technique.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow.
• Monitor patients in recovery and safe discharge.

Position Overview

Primary Vascular Care is seeking an experienced Sedation Nurse (RN) to join our team on a full time basis assisting with vascular procedures in the operating room. The ideal candidate has experience administering and monitoring moderate sedation in a procedural environment and is comfortable working alongside physicians during image-guided vascular interventions.

Must be able to travel throughout the Bronx and Brooklyn.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor moderate sedation for patients undergoing vascular procedures.
• Continuously assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness during procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures including IV placement, medication administration, and pre-procedural assessment.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort before, during, and after sedation.
• Document sedation medications, monitoring data, and patient responses in accordance with facility and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure emergency equipment, medications, and monitoring devices are available and functioning prior to procedures.
• Assist the procedural team while maintaining sterile technique when appropriate.
• Collaborate with physicians, radiologic technologists, and surgical staff to ensure efficient procedural workflow.
• Monitor patients during recovery and ensure safe discharge from the procedural area.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in procedural, interventional, or critical care settings preferred.
• Experience administering or monitoring moderate sedation strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of patient monitoring, airway management, and emergency response protocols.
• Ability to work independently in a procedural environment.
• Preferred Experience:
• Experience with vascular or interventional radiology procedures.
• Prior experience in OBL, ASC, cath lab, or hospital operating room settings.
• Familiarity with sedation documentation and procedural workflow.
