Schedule: Full-Time / Days / 32 hour per week / Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our busy vascular surgery practice. The primary role of this position is to provide nursing care and clinical oversight in our office-based Angio Suite, with cross-coverage and clinical support in our vascular clinic as needed. The RN will work closely with our vascular surgeons and clinical team to provide safe, compassionate, and efficient care.
Principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional vascular procedures.
- Perform pre-procedure assessments, medication reconciliation, vital signs, vascular assessment, airway assessment, IV placement, and patient preparation.
- Review pre-procedure labs, clearances, and medical history and communicate abnormal findings to the provider.
- Administer conscious sedation and other medications under physician direction and continuously monitor patient.
- Provide post‑procedure recovery care, including access‑site and vascular assessments, management of hemostasis devices and monitoring for complications.
- Educate patient/family on discharge instructions and post‑procedure care.
- Manage post‑procedure follow‑up calls.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Athena EMR.
Clinical Oversight
- Perform daily clinical and safety checks
- Maintain medication, safety, and controlled substance logs.
- Ensure clinical supplies and equipment are properly maintained and available.
- Serve as a clinical resource to medical assistants and non‑clinical staff and assist with orientation and training as needed.
- Promote compliance with clinical, safety, infection‑control, and practice policies.
Clinic Cross-Coverage & Triage
- Provide clinical support in the vascular clinic when needed.
- Room and assess patients, obtain vital signs, reconcile medications/allergies, and assist with provider visits.
- Perform wound care, suture/staple removal, and apply compression wraps per provider’s orders.
- Assist with vein closures and office procedures
- Triage clinical calls and communicate concerns to providers.
- Provide patients and caregivers with education on patient’s care, treatment and prevention.
- Assist with clinic procedures and other clinical duties as needed.
Qualifications
- ASN or BSN
- Active Massachusetts RN license in good standing.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, vascular surgery, or a comparable procedural setting required.
- Experience with IV insertion and conscious sedation required.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
