Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC, seeks a Supervisory Security Specialist (Security Testing and Mitigation Manager) to lead AUS-300, the Security Testing and Partnerships Branch, within the Office of Advanced Aviation Technologies.

You will oversee security policy, threat mitigation, testing of DTIM systems, and coordination with partner agencies; manage a multidisciplinary team through investigations and enforcement matters.

Aufgaben

• Provide managerial leadership and oversight of aviation and UAS security programs designed to identify, assess, and mitigate security threats to the NAS, critical infrastructure, and aviation operations.
• Oversee security policy development, security requirements, threat mitigation strategies, and security technology testing and evaluation, and inter-agency coordination related to UAS and C-UAS activities.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team performing complex studies, investigations, and compliance audits and enforcement matters across the FAA and external organizations, including research of UAS incidents with affected organizations.
• Lead investigations into sensitive, high-profile UAS incidents, accidents, and service provider outages subject to intense public or congressional scrutiny.
• Evaluate investigation findings to establish root causes, assess regulatory compliance, and dictate appropriate corrective or enforcement measures.
• Apply detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, providing oversight and security for the deployment and operational use of C-UAS systems by partner agencies.
• Direct high-risk, high-visibility, or nationally significant aviation safety events and investigations, ensuring coordinated strategies to resolve issues.
• Integrate work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the FAA, participating in strategic planning and making commitments for a major organization.
