Job summary

Axiom Path is recruiting for a Cybersecurity Data Engineer to join a global financial institution's security telemetry team in Charlotte. You will design and operate scalable pipelines ingesting security data into SIEM and analytics platforms, across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role emphasizes data quality, threat detection support, and collaboration with security, cloud, and governance teams, with hands-on work on Azure data services and log sources.

Qualifications

• At least three years of cybersecurity or data engineering experience.
• Experience onboarding and validating log sources in SIEM or cloud data platforms.
• Proficiency with structured and unstructured logs (JSON, XML, CSV).
• Kusto Query Language (KQL) experience preferred.
• Scripting skills with Python, PowerShell, or comparable tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable pipelines ingesting security telemetry into SIEM and cloud analytics platforms.
• Onboard network, endpoint, identity, application, infrastructure, and cloud log sources.
• Parse, normalize, transform, and enrich log data using regex, JSON, XML, CSV, and schema mapping.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, cloud, and governance teams to establish end-to-end data flows.
• Verify data completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and integrity for monitoring and incident response.
• Align onboarded data with enterprise schemas and governance standards.
• Troubleshoot ingestion failures and data-quality defects.
• Develop documentation covering source requirements, data mappings, and onboarding procedures.
• Monitor pipeline health, throughput, reliability, and costs.
• Support infrastructure-as-code practices for security data integrations.
