Tusco, Inc. in Cottondale, AL is seeking a Construction Technician II / Physical Security Technician Level II to maintain perimeter and electronic security components at customer sites.

You will interpret prints and schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and install replacement parts to keep systems running. The role requires troubleshooting, repairs, and documenting work with a range of hand and power tools, while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret prints, drawings, manuals, and electrical schematics.
• Basic networking concepts: Ethernet, switches, media converter.
• Read and comprehend instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
• Flexibility with assignments, locations, and weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on perimeter security and electronic components.
• Carry out preventive maintenance inspections and servicing.
• Disassemble/reassemble components and replace parts.
• Record damaged or worn parts; document work performed.
• Operate hand and power tools; use precision measuring devices.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and repair promptly.
• Determine wiring based on environmental conditions (wet, RF interference).
• Follow site safety policies and complete required training.
• Cross-train to support other team members as needed.
