Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Security Technician for a travel position supporting CONUS and OCONUS deployments. The role requires an active SECRET clearance and a passport, with duties spanning installation, testing, and maintenance of CCTV, IDS, ACS, and network systems.

You will document test results, identify defects, and install fiber optics and low-voltage cabling on large industrial/government projects. Excellent schedule flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years in electronics technology.
• Must have a minimum SECRET clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
• Must have a passport.
• Experience with CCTV, IDS, ACS and basic networking.
• Experience terminating alarm devices, cameras, access control devices and CAT-5 cabling.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment including controls and sensors.

• Install and terminate fiber optic cable and perform fusion-splicing.
• Read installation design plans, schematics, and manufacturer literature.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Security Technician to join our team!

THIS IS A TRAVEL POSITION. SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL AS NEEDED.

What You'll Be Doing:

• This is a travelling installations technician spot. CONUS and OCONUS
• Maintain company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment
• Prepare reports of tests results and assessments of key electronic systems to ensure efficient operations
• Identify defects with various components and find suitable replacements
• Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic equipment, including controls, power supplies, gauges, and sensors
• Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and multi-meters
• Pull and terminate low voltage signal and network cables
• Install, fusion-splice, and terminate fiber optic cable
• Read and understand installation design plans, schematics, and manufacturers’ literature for electrical and electronic components

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.

• Experience with Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), intrusion detection systems (IDS, automated access control systems (ACS) and basis networking.
• Experience terminating alarm devices, cameras, access control devices and CAT-5 cabling.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:

• Experience on Vindicator, Lenel, and/or Bosch IDS and ACS systems is highly desired.
• Fiberoptic Certifications is a plus.
• Experience on large industrial / government projects is a plus.

Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51
