Principal Accountabilities
- Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain security systems and equipment, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and related devices.
- Diagnose technical issues and system deficiencies; identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, specifications, and system documentation to support installation and troubleshooting.
- Coordinate installation and service activities with Project Managers, Supervisors, customers, contractors, and other trades to support project schedules and successful system delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including work orders, installation records, diagrams, inspection reports, service records, and maintenance activities.
- Apply knowledge of basic electrical and electronic principles, security technologies, testing equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Maintain current knowledge of security technology, industry standards, applicable building codes, safety practices, and evolving system requirements.
- Follow company, OSHA, and job-site safety procedures, including safe work practices when working with electrical systems, equipment, ladders, and other job-site hazards.
- Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, coworkers, contractors, and other project stakeholders and provide a high level of customer service.
- Work independently and collaboratively while effectively prioritizing tasks, managing time, and meeting project schedules and deadlines.
- Use computers, security software, testing equipment, hand tools, and other technology required to perform the position.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
- Adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies, equipment, software, and processes as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in security systems, electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience as a security technician or in a related technical field preferred.
