Job summary

PowerComm Solutions in Reno, Nevada is seeking a Security Technician to join our team. You will lead and assist in all phases of security system implementation, work with project managers, and act as a technical expert for major client accounts.

The role requires an associate degree in Electronics and 3–5 years' experience installing and maintaining low voltage security systems, with certifications a plus. Strong communication and IT/networking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and/or other educational studies in Electronics.
• 3–5 years of experience installing, programming, commissioning, integrating, servicing and maintaining low voltage electronic security systems.
• Certifications in Lenel, Software House, Milestone, Genetec, Exacq, and Bosch are a plus.
• Excellent mechanical skills to install and maintain systems hardware.
• Proficient troubleshooting across application, hardware, and infrastructure levels.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Proficient Microsoft Office aptitudes.
• Strong IT/Networking aptitude as it applies to electronics systems.
• Must clear a background/credit check, drug test, and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or participate in all phases of network-based security systems implementation life cycle: plan, organize, design, install, configure, integrate, test, commission, and support.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals and product manuals to install and setup electronic systems.
• Assist Project Manager in coordinating and scheduling projects and allocating manpower.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure material and equipment are ordered and available timely.
• Perform Field Surveys to prepare accurate project estimates.
• Ensure as-built drawings are accurate and handed to drafting promptly.
• Act as customer liaison for operational activities.
• Maintain technical expertise and pursue training opportunities.
• Ensure safety compliance and site code adherence.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
