Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a skilled security systems technician to independently service, inspect, repair, and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems in Charlotte, NC. You will diagnose issues, verify performance, and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.

The role requires a High School diploma and 3+ years in fire and life safety, with a valid driver's license if driving is involved.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if driving role).
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.
• Travel to job sites as required.
