Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Security System Technician to install, service, and troubleshoot security cameras and alarm systems for customers. Based out of the Holyoke, MA area, you will ensure systems operate reliably, stay code compliant, and coordinate with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to customer sites.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, fire alarm system theory, OSHA requirements, and related standards.
• Experience installing and servicing systems from major manufacturers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot security camera and alarm systems with limited or no supervision.
• Respond to emergency service calls, including overtime, nights, weekends, or short-notice availability.
• Coordinate daily work with contractors, customers, maintenance personnel, and Encore staff.
• Identify code compliance issues and take corrective action.
• Recommend installation improvements and carry out system issue resolution.
• Maintain safety, quality, and attention to detail in all field activities.

The Opportunity

At Encore, we take protecting people and property personally and we are looking for a Security System Technician who feels the same. Based out of our Holyoke, MA office, you will be the person customers count on to install, service, and troubleshoot security camera and alarm systems that keep their buildings secure and their teams safe. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of your assigned service and installation work, partnering with customers and internal teams to ensure systems are installed correctly, operating reliably, and kept code compliant. In this role, you will:

• Install, service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot basic and complex security camera and alarm systems with limited or no supervision.

• Respond to emergency service calls, which may require overtime hours, nights, weekends, or short-notice availability.

• Coordinate daily work activities with contractors, customers, building maintenance personnel, and Encore office staff.

• Identify code compliance and non-conformance issues and take appropriate corrective action.

• Make accurate and confident recommendations for system installation improvements.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and carry out assigned customer system issues through completion.

• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and attention to detail in all field activities

What You Bring to the Table

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to customer sites.

• Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, fire alarm system theory, OSHA requirements, and industry standards related to security and fire alarm system installation.

• Experience installing and servicing systems from manufacturers such as Gamewell-FCI, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Honeywell, Fire-Lite, or similar platforms.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in the field.
