Job summary

Encore Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to keep life-safety systems operating when it matters most. You will move between site visits, testing, troubleshooting, and occasional emergency calls, ensuring compliance and reliability across a range of alarm systems.

You will work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams, with opportunities for long-term career growth in a critical industry and a structured on-site field role within your assigned territory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or industry experience preferred.
• Valid electrical license per state requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within your assigned territory.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations and fire alarm system theory.
• Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers: Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, Honeywell.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with methodical approach.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple service assignments, and prioritize your day.
• Professional, team-oriented mindset and commitment to customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

As a Fire Alarm Service Technician at Encore, you will be a key part of keeping our customers’ life safety systems operating the way they should when it matters most. You will inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems, making sure they are compliant, reliable, and ready to perform. This is a field-based role with a lot of variety and autonomy.

You will move from site to site, solve problems in real-time, and work directly with customers, contractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities

You are the onewho gets thecall when the panelkeepsbeeping;a device refuses to cooperate, or an inspection turns up something that cannot wait. You move between scheduled service, system testing, troubleshooting, and the occasional emergency call, keeping customersinformed,and systems compliant from start to finish. In this role, you will:

• Respond to emergency calls as required, including participation in nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
• Document service activities accurately, including findings, work performed, and parts used.
• Maintain clear communication with customers, supervisors, and office staff regarding status, next steps, and any concerns.

What You Bring to the Table

• High school diploma or GED required, with technical or industry related experience preferred
• Valid electrical license, in accordance with state specific requirements
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within your assigned territory
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA regulations, and fire alarm system theory
• Hands-on experience working with fire alarm systems from major manufacturers such as Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Simplex, Fire Lite, Gamewell FCI, and Honeywell

What Makes You Stand Out

• You have three or more years of experience inspecting, servicing, or repairing fire alarm systems.
• You have NICET certification in water-based systems for inspection, testing, or layout.
• You have experience supporting both service and small project work, not just one or the other.
• You have helped mentor or support apprentices or less experienced technicians in the field.
• You have worked across multiple manufacturers and are comfortable adapting to different panels and devices.
• You are known for clean, complete documentation, and for keeping customers informed without being prompted.

Salary commensurate with experience with opportunity for a results-driven bonus based on personal output and effectiveness in role. Expected hourly range between $30 - $50 per hour.
