Job summary

Preferred Technologies, LLC in Austin, TX seeks a Security Systems Programmer I to join the IT Services team, supporting deployment and validation of critical security technologies. This entry-level role grows technical skills while aiding internal and external customers with programming support.

The position involves data entry, IP addressing of cameras and access devices, programming across Genetec, Honeywell, and other platforms, plus on-site and remote troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of security systems and electronics.
• Ability to absorb and follow technical instructions with precision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Licensed or ability to obtain TXDPS Security License and TWIC card immediately.

Responsibilities

• Data entry.
• IP addressing of cameras, intrusion, and access control devices.
• Programming security systems across Genetec, Honeywell, Software House, DMP, Bosch.
• Assist field teams with configuration, integration, and testing of PACS, CCTV, IDS.
• Follow instructions under the IT Services Manager guidance.
• Participate in on-site and remote troubleshooting for functionality and compliance.
• Document configuration steps, test results, and performance metrics.
• Support equipment preparation and staging for deployment.
• Maintain responsiveness in dynamic field environments.
