Job summary

Convergint is seeking a full-time Engineering Specialist to service and support existing customers by responding to service calls, carrying out Customer Support Programs and small projects. You will be part of a dynamic team that allows you to grow as Convergint grows.

You will apply engineering principles to building automation and electronic security systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and work with a variety of hand and power tools.

Qualifications

Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure.
Solid knowledge of engineering principles related to building automation systems, and/or electronic security systems.
Solid technical and computer-based skills, proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with a variety of hand and power tools).
A valid driver\'s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel locally to jobsites; minimal overnight travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Analyze plans, functional specifications and contracts to determine technical project requirements; manage estimating, designing, tracking, start-up and planning phases; material and equipment procurement.
Provide input, reviews and may prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring.
Provide custom systems integrations, detailed systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits and consultation, and/or database management and manipulation; may install, configure, and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects.
Carry out in-depth analysis of plans, functional specifications and contracts to determine and advise on technical project requirements; manage a variety of aspects of projects including estimating, designing, tracking, start-up and planning phases; material and equipment procurement.

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g., works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.
