Job summary

Convergint Technologies, LLC seeks an Engineering Specialist to join our high-growth culture and support building automation projects from start-up through commissioning.

You will troubleshoot, program, and provide technical support to ensure customer satisfaction while working on diverse installations across remote locations, with associated travel and a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude with common tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to remote towns.
• Proficient MS Office; basic networking/IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Support application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, and startup of projects.
• Ensure work meets established quality standards.
• Serve as technical contact to maximize customer satisfaction with BAS.
• Help ensure projects stay on budget and on schedule.
• Perform other duties as required.

What you'll do with "Our Training and Your Experience"

• Responsible for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You'll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required, including travel to remote towns/villages. Valid driver's license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• Previous experience with Building Automation System and Fire Alarm
• NICET level II
