Job summary

HDR is hiring a Security Designer II to design integrated electronic security systems and engineering infrastructure. You will calculate power loads, design UPS needs and prepare construction documents under project leadership.

Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years in security design, and familiarity with Autodesk. This role supports an employee-owned culture and may prefer candidates in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 5 years in security design with Autodesk familiarity.
• RCDD and Electrical Engineering degree helpful.
• Active participant in employee-owned culture required.

Responsibilities

• Design integrated electronic security systems.
• Calculate electrical loads, UPS requirements and single-line diagrams.
• Prepare complete construction documents.
• Investigate variables to meet assignment objectives.
• Perform security/elec design tasks with guidance from Project Manager.
• Write specifications and coordinate with owners as part of the team.
• Assist other designers and technicians across all design phases.
• Conduct QA/QC on work performed by teammates.
• Perform other duties as needed.
