Job summary

Amazon Security is seeking a Systems Development Engineer II to design and implement automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines for global access control systems. You will own end-to-end solutions, from code to deployment, across AWS regions, ensuring reliability and security at scale.

You will build testable, maintainable tooling, work with cross-functional teams, and help reduce operational toil while improving release velocity.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and build processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate automation, tooling, and CI/CD pipelines for Optics services across AWS regions.
• Own production systems monitoring, alarms, and runbooks; reduce manual toil and MTTR.
• Lead design for medium-to-large infrastructure initiatives balancing complexity, security, and delivery speed.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK/CloudFormation) to provision services and resources.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across the stack from service code to infrastructure and device connectivity.
• Improve deployment safety and release velocity through automated testing and gating.
• Partner with software engineers, security, and operations to harden systems for high availability and security by design.
• Participate in on-call rotation and continuously reduce operational load.
