Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Commercial Security Systems Installation Technician in Las Vegas, NV. You will install and configure access control, IP-based video surveillance, and intrusion systems, read blueprints, and perform testing and commissioning on customer sites.

This contract role requires safety-minded individuals with low-voltage installation experience and a valid driver’s license. Local travel and onsite work in Las Vegas are expected.

Qualifications

  • Experience installing low-voltage security systems or related technologies.
  • Ability to read and follow installation documentation and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic understanding of wiring methods and proper termination practices.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record and ability to pass background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure commercial security systems including access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
  • Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.
  • Read blueprints and interpret system drawings; mount and install cameras and control panels.
  • Perform system programming, testing, and commissioning and troubleshoot issues.
  • Complete service documentation and maintain accurate project records.

Job description

Commercial Security Systems Installation Technician
Key Responsibilities
  • Install and configure commercial security systems, including:

  • Access Control Systems

  • IP-Based Video Surveillance (CCTV)

  • Intrusion Detection and Alarm Systems

  • Intercom and Communication Systems

  • Pull, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and system drawings.

  • Mount and install cameras, control panels, card readers, door hardware, and related equipment.

  • Perform system programming, testing, and commissioning.

  • Troubleshoot and repair system issues as needed.

  • Complete service documentation and maintain accurate project records.

  • Ensure installations comply with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable codes.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at customer job sites.

  • Provide professional interaction with customers, project managers, and team members.

QualificationsRequired
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1+ years of experience installing low-voltage systems, security systems, telecommunications, or related technologies.

  • Basic understanding of wiring methods, cable termination, and low-voltage installation practices.

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and ladders.

  • Ability to read and follow installation documentation and wiring diagrams.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to pass background screening as required for customer sites.

Preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial security installations.

  • Experience with access control platforms, IP cameras, and intrusion alarm systems.

  • Industry certifications such as:

  • OSHA 10

  • ESA Certified Alarm Technician

  • Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, or similar manufacturer certifications

  • Basic networking knowledge, including IP addressing and device connectivity.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work on ladders and lifts.

  • Ability to work in construction and renovation environments.

  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work overhead for extended periods.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
