Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Security Officer for evening shifts. You will implement security services, conduct rounds, and respond to incidents to protect patients, staff and visitors.

The role enforces policies, coordinates with the Environment of Care committee, and supports employee education. A State Guard certification is required, along with a high school diploma and DMV driving history verification as applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• One (1) year experience in a lead security position preferred.
• State Guard Certification/Card required.

Responsibilities

• Implements Security services, including electronic surveillance, and systematic manual Public Safety/Security Officers’ rounds.
• Coordinates facility response to various potential problems for patients, employees, and visitors.
• Enforces policy & procedure, ensuring equitable enforcement.
• Establishes guidelines and perpetual monitoring techniques, towards establishing a safe workplace for employees and a safe environment of care.
• Works with the Environment of Care committee to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to security and safety.
• Participates in employee awareness and education.
• Driving as needed for company business.
