Position Overview

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure a safe, secure environment for guests and employees at Ko Kwel Casino Resort in Medford. This includes overseeing casino operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and managing personnel in the absence of the Shift Manager. Leadership and team management skills are essential.

Responsibilities

1. Promote a safe, healthy, and friendly environment for all visitors and staff.
2. Manage and supervise security personnel during shifts, especially in the absence of the Security Manager.
3. Ensure the safety of guests and staff by escorting them as needed, including large sums of money and chips.
4. Monitor and patrol casino property, report policy infractions, and supervise machine and table drops.
5. Handle unauthorized persons, assist with physical altercations, and respond to emergencies.
6. Maintain daily reports, conduct departmental duties, and assist in training staff following tribal policies.
7. Perform other duties as assigned, including assuming responsibilities of senior roles when necessary.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old and a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Oregon Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in casino security or law enforcement, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to obtain EMR certification and OLCC Service Permit.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills.

Physical & Work Environment

Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts. Physical requirements include standing, walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and responding quickly to emergencies. Work environment may include exposure to secondhand smoke and loud noises.
