Job summary

The Obama Foundation is seeking a Security Officer for the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park, Chicago. You will maintain a welcoming security presence, monitor cameras, enforce policies, greet visitors, and respond to emergencies, reporting to a Security Supervisor.

This full-time, in-person role requires a HS diploma, 1-2 years security or related experience, CPR/First Aid/AED certification, and the ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred or required within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high visibility and welcoming presence around the Center.
• Monitor behavior, enforce security policies, and guide safety procedures.
• Patrol premises, ensure alarms and cameras are operational.
• Greet visitors, screen guests, and manage access to restricted areas.
• Implement emergency protocols and coordinate with local authorities.
• Document incidents and report to management as required.
• Collaborate with Visitor Experience staff to ensure safety and hospitality.
