Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in Philadelphia is seeking a Security Supervisor (Driver's License Required) to lead and manage security personnel at the client site. This role emphasizes professional customer-focused service, safety, and life protection across our security operations.

You will schedule shifts, monitor activity, prepare incident reports, and ensure compliance with contract requirements while maintaining a professional presence and assisting clients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid security officer license as required by state or locality.
Minimum high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Verifiable supervisory experience and relevant certifications preferred.
Prior contract security, law enforcement, or military background is helpful.
Reliable communication and transportation required.
Ability to obtain a security guard license if not already licensed.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor security personnel to meet contract requirements and quality standards.
Handle scheduling, overtime management, and review daily logs and incidents.
Provide recommendations for personnel actions for supervised staff.
Maintain professional demeanor and assist clients, employees, and guests.
Maintain visible presence within the assigned facility.
Monitor environment for suspicious or unsafe activity.
Answer phones professionally and follow policies and procedures.
Enforce facility policies within scope of position.
Coordinate emergency response and action planning procedures.
Initiate investigations and write accurate incident reports.
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.

Our Supervisors are responsible for providing professional customer-focused security and life safety services for the people and the property they protect and our employees that they lead.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure quality services are provided to meet customer expectations and contract requirements by regularly inspecting, training, coaching, mentoring and leading security personnel assigned to the facility/building
Perform operations related functions to include; scheduling, overtime management, review of daily logs and incident reports, training and development of staff
Provide recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those staff members under his/her direct supervision.
Maintain a professional demeanor, leading staff and aiding customers, employees, and guests
Maintain a visible presence in the facility / building assigned
Monitor the environment, with the ability to detect suspicious and unsafe activity
Answer all phones in a professional manner
Know the facility / building policies and procedures, lead and enforce them within positions limits
Follow and coordinate established emergency response, action planning and procedures
Initiate preliminary investigations into incidents and write reports to ensure accuracy of necessary documentation
Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, as required

Knowledge, Skill Requirements and Qualifications

State or municipality mandated security officer licenses
Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent
Verifiable and successful supervisory and advanced education and/or certifications preferred
Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, customer service experience is helpful
Must have reliable means of communication and transportation
Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Write routine correspondence, to include log entries, incident and reporting
Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service environment
Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize and problem solve
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office

Compensation
