Salary Range: $62,353.20 To $62,353.20 Annually

Position Function:

Developing, implementing, and managing the center's security program.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages and directs the operation of the center's security program
• Conducts investigations of accidents and incidents with the goal of resolution and reduction of future occurrences
• Provides written and oral reports, briefings, or summaries to the appropriate staff
• Establishes liaison and maintains harmonious relations with local law enforcement agencies
• Provides supervision, training, assessment, and leadership of security staff
• Manages and administers a departmental budget and works within budgetary constraints
• Approves requisitions for security equipment, supplies, and materials
• Oversees inventory control and maintenance of security equipment, supplies, and materials
• Plans, organizes, and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with center and ETR policy and procedures

• Proven management experience within the security industry, public sector, or armed services
• Proven track record of building strong relationships with colleagues at all levels
• Working knowledge of security best practices and legislation affecting the security role
• Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending and labor budgets
• Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent written and verbal communication
• Proven record of sound judgment and decision-making skills, with a "hands-on" problem-solving approach, able to remain calm, cool and collected under pressure and to take control of incidents
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
• Proficient in using computer software such as the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree requirements on a year-for-year basis.
• Three years' experience in military and/or law enforcement, one of which was in a supervisory capacity
• Must possess a valid NYS Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
• Must possess or obtain a valid commercial Class B driver's license with a passenger endorsement within three months of hire
