Job summary

Bechtel Global Corporation seeks a security coordinator for the Thacker Pass project in Nevada to assist with coordinating security programs, physical security services, and emergency planning for Bechtel projects or jobsites.

You will develop emergency procedures, proposals, studies, and surveys, and recommend improvements to strengthen safety and security programs. This role supports Bechtel’s mission on a major lithium development initiative.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of physical security principles and equipment for protection of construction sites and facilities.
• Experience with industrial security technology and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in support of Corporate Security programs.
• Monitors live media outlets and contracted information for world events and reports activities to Corporate Security managers.
• Operates travel security program tracking Bechtel employees to ensure safety.
• Produces daily and specialized reports for senior managers.
• Acts as focal point for internal and external queries to Corporate Security and directs to the correct source.
• Assists in identifying discrepancies and recommends corrective actions.
• Compiles, analyzes, and prepares information for studies or reports.

Project Overview:

Thacker Pass is the largest known lithium resource in the United States. Once complete, the mine and processing facilities will produce more lithium carbonate than any other facility in the United States by far - enough to power 1 million electric vehicles per year.

As the EPCM contractor for Lithium Americas, Bechtel is responsible for managing and integrating the efforts of a team contractors engineering and building the facility. We are also managing procurement of about $1 Billion in goods and services.

Earth work began in 2023 and design and procurement of long-lead equipment is underway.

The project is located in the high desert and wide-open spaces of north-central Nevada about 25 miles from the Oregon border, 1 hour northwest of Winnemucca, Nevada and 3 hours northeast of Reno.

Planned with sustainability and the environment in mind, the facility will use its excess process heat to generate electricity and will recycle process water up to seven times. Once the second phase of the project is complete, Thacker Pass will produce more than 16 times the current U.S. output of lithium.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will assist with coordinating security programs, physical security services, and emergency planning for the protection of Bechtel projects or jobsites. You will participate in the development of emergency procedures, proposals, studies, and surveys. Your recommendations for improvements and corrective actions will enhance the safety and security programs at Bechtel. #LI-NP1

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs duties in support of CorporateSecurity programs
• Monitors live media outlets/websites andcontract information for up to the minuteinformation on world events and reportsactivities and events of concern to CorporateSecurity managers
• Operates Bechtel's travel security program,tracking business travel of Bechtelemployees to ensure their safety
• Produces daily and specialized reports forsenior managers
• Acts as the focal point for incoming internaland external queries to Corporate Security,resolves issue or directs individuals to thecorrect source for resolution
• Assists in identifying and reportingdiscrepancies and recommends correctiveactions through appropriate reportingrelationships
• Compiles, analyzes, and prepares or assistsin preparing information for studies or reports

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (orinternational equivalent) and 5-8 years ofrelevant experience or 9-12 years of relevantwork experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, intelligence unit, or with a public or government security organization
• Current knowledge of physical security principles, procedures, and equipment & technology applicable to protection of construction activities, offices, and facilities.
• Practical knowledge in the utilization of industrial security technology and its purpose and application for a camp construction site, as well as business and government restrictions and requirements that must be met and achieved
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Ability to research and comprehend organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in using computer tools for presentations, data management, internal applications usage, and report preparation.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Specialized technical expertise and knowledge in relevant security systems
