Job description

NSORNA Nisqually's Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act requires all individuals who have ever been convicted of a sex offense to register with our Public Safety Department. This is true whether or not you have to register with another jurisdiction.
GENERAL SUMMARY

The Security Supervisor will oversee facility security to protect all company assets. The Security Supervisor may also manage and/or implement security protocols related to the storage of confidential information and documents.

This position ensures the confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records, and promotes positive employee, customer, and community relations. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required and outstanding customer service to fellow employees, customers, vendors, etc. is expected. Regular attendance is required, and on occasion, later hours or weekend time may be required with project deadlines and a neat well-groomed professional appearance is essential at all times.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform.   • Provides and/or implements security and security protocols for all assigned facilities and information systems.
  • Take proactive steps to provide a safe and secure working environment for staff and visitors.
  • Provides specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.
  • Conducts regular walk-throughs and security inspections for assigned facilities.
  • Be available to provide any assistance during any emergency situation, e.g. fire alarms, etc.
  • Report any safety related issues that require immediate attention or repairs.
  • Patrols and monitors an assigned area; reports suspicious activities to local authorities.
  • An eye for detail and the ability to remain extremely focused on tasks.
  • Monitors surveillance cameras, inspects property, and monitors crowds.
  • Tracing and tracking persons of interest for video surveillance.
  • Utilizing surveillance equipment to monitor and observe subjects.
  • Proficiency in operating surveillance equipment.
  • Reporting observations and findings to the relevant persons and creating reports.
  • Contacts law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
  • After business hours, checks doors, windows, and gates to ensure the property is secure.
  • Investigates reports of suspicious activity on the property.
  • Collecting evidence and other information as and when required.
  • Reasonably detains persons suspected of criminal activity until law enforcement arrives.
  • Escorts discharged staff, trespassers, and other unwelcome parties off the premises.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Five years of related security experience required.
  • Security guard training certification
  • Crisis Intervention & De-escalation Training within 90 days of hire.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified within 90 days of hire.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets the minimum requirements established by Nisqually Indian Tribes vehicle insurance provider.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Knowledge of the Nisqually Indian Tribe's history, customs, traditions, and ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity.
  • Experience working with Federally Recognized Tribes.
SUPERVISION
Interviews, hires, and trains security staff.
Oversees the daily workflow, schedules, and assignments of security staff including security guards and desk clerks.
Prepares and conducts training for new hires and current staff including training on workplace searches, drug and alcohol procedures, and related safety and security topics.
COMPETENCIES

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust to focus.
