Job summary

theWit Chicago is seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to support daily security operations, coordinate with third-party security officers, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests, team members, and visitors.

The role reports to the Director of Security and is a Full Time, Non Exempt position with a pay rate of $26.00 per hour. Responsibilities include monitoring post orders, site inspections, incident responses, and assisting with emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security experience required.
• Hospitality experience and prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily security coverage and post assignments with the third-party provider under the Director of Security.
• Monitor adherence to post orders, appearance standards, and service expectations; report concerns.
• Complete routine safety checks, site inspections, and report hazards or gaps promptly.
• Conduct property patrols, monitor surveillance, and support access control.
• Respond to disturbances and incidents with professional communication and de-escalation.
• Support emergency response and evacuation procedures with hotel departments and responders.
• Prepare incident reports and review officer reports for accuracy; communicate follow-ups during handoffs.
• Assist investigations as directed; protect confidential information and escalate concerns.
• Maintain communication with hotel leadership, HR, and third-party provider.
• Document concerns and refer coaching or disciplinary matters as needed.

theWit Chicago is seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to support daily security operations, coordinate with third-party security officers, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for guests, team members, and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily security coverage and post assignments with the third-party security provider under the direction of the Director of Security.
• Monitor third-party officers’ adherence to established post orders, professional appearance standards, and hotel service expectations; report concerns to the Director of Security and the provider’s designated supervisor.
• Complete routine security checklists and site inspections, and promptly report hazards, deficiencies, staffing gaps, and emergency coverage needs.
• Conduct property patrols, monitor surveillance systems, and support access control in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Respond to guest disturbances and security incidents using professional communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Support emergency response and evacuation procedures, coordinating with hotel departments, emergency responders, and law enforcement as appropriate.
• Prepare accurate, timely incident reports and review officers’ reports for completeness and accuracy; communicate outstanding incidents and follow-up needs during shift handoffs.
• Assist with investigations as directed by the Director of Security, protect confidential information, and promptly escalation employee-related concerns to Security leadership and Human Resources.
• Maintain effective communication with hotel leadership, Human Resources, operating departments, and the third-party security provider.
• Document concerns involving third-party security officers and refer coaching, performance management, and disciplinary matters to the Director of Security and the provider’s designated supervisor.

Qualifications

• At least two years of security experience required; hospitality experience and prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
• Knowledge of security procedures, incident reporting, coverage coordination, and emergency response.
• Ability to handle incidents and sensitive concerns professionally, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional, with strong attention to detail.
• Valid Illinois PERC Card required within 90 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing or walking for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds, and using computers and office equipment for extended periods.

Schedule

Full time. Open availability required, including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.
