Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and assets in a fast-paced retail environment. The role focuses on de-escalation, incident documentation, and using Target's video surveillance and case management systems.

You will work with store leadership and public safety to deter theft and maintain safety. Candidates should be 18+, have a high school diploma, and be flexible for nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Capability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring guest experience by greeting guests and assisting with needs.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues to ensure a smooth shopping experience.
• Prevent theft and safeguard merchandise, including front-of-store checks.
• Submit appropriate documentation in the case management system for all incidents following AP policy.
• Respond to security incidents using de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain safety policies, report hazards and correct where possible.
